    Safe & effective use

Every child is different. We encourage you to observe and adapt your child’s space based on their unique abilities and needs

Until you observe your child and have a better understanding of their abilities with the bed, we recommend a 12-inch distance from the wall when just the platform is in use.  These recommendations are to avoid entrapment of your child between the wall and bed frame. Regulation states "if the bed is placed against a wall, the guardrail on that side is expected to prevent a child from being entrapped between the bed and the wall. The guardrail on the wall side of the bed must extend continuously from one end to the other."

Sprout side rails, headboards, and footboards meet the ASTM Full-size Crib guidelines found in F1169-19.

    Mattress Information

We recommend a twin-size mattress between 6-8 inches thick

    FAQ

Will the Sosta Bed be available in Full Size?

We hope to make a Full size version of the Sosta bed in the future!

At what age should I transition my child to a floor/toddler bed?

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) advises beds “intended to provide free access and egress to a child not less than 15 months of age.” These regulations prevent companies from selling beds that are not entirely enclosed as products for children under 15 months. Many families choose to switch their child earlier than 15 months while others choose to wait. We believe that you'll know what's best for your child. You know how your child sleeps, how their room is set up, what they'll need to grow and what you're comfortable with. Every child is different. We encourage you to observe and adapt your child’s space based off of their unique abilities and needs.

Is there enough room to lie down with my child? Can the bed handle the weight of an adult?

The frame fits a standard twin size mattress and has a weight limit of 400 pounds laying or sitting on the bed with a mattress.

    Well made, well packaged

Happy with the bed. I also bought Juniper mattress from Costco and saatva waterproof mattress protector. Lastly, I got a truck-shaped pillow from Pottery Barn. The result: my 23-month old wanted to sleep in this bed on day one.

    Great quality bed

The Sosta bed is the third piece of furniture we've ordered from Sprout, and we will undoubtedly be back for more. Fantastic craftsmanship, simple assembly, and absolutely worth the wait. Our toddler loves it. Highly recommend reading the blog they compiled of community mattress recommendations—we choose one from the list and had zero issues with fit.

    Excellent quality and versatility!

After buying a flimsy, disappointing house bed from another company, we decided to purchase two Sosta beds for our kids. We started with floor beds and just attached legs for our older child.

We are SO pleased with our purchases! The beds are extremely solid (our family of 4 can all sit on one twin bed without concern) and have withstood some very vigorous play with no dents or dings. I think these will truly be the only beds they'll need throughout childhood!

Great and high quality floor bed

This bed was exactly what I was looking for to transition my child from her crib. It enables baby to independently go into and out of the bed. The rails provided also prevents child from falling out of the bed which is a great plus. It grows with baby so I think it’s just a great toddler bed and will grow with baby.

    Great first bed!

My son loves his bed! We have it as a floor bed at the moment, which is perfect for him. I love how sturdy it is and how mama or dada are able to get into bed to help with the bedtime process.
